Well, near Back-To-School week, or for some of you, it already has been. This entry's for the poor kids who sadly have to go through uniform changes, or for some, the same uniform every year.
WARNINGS:
-Read the uniform rules for your school, remember that not EVERYTHING in this list is permitted in some schools.
-These tips and tricks are mostly for uniforms that you have to or able to buy yourself. These tips shouldn't be used if there are strict rules for uniform.
TIPS AND TRICKS
Instead of buying those weird and strange-fit uniform shirts (those navy blue or white collar shirts with only 3 buttons) try buying button-ups instead. They're more fashionable and are more fitted than the basic uniform shirt. Avoid the boxy button-up, it may be more "boyfriend" look but in some schools, they need you to button up all the way and "boyfriend" look mostly works if you have a fitted tee under it to balance things out. If rules don't enforce that, then go for a matching navy blue fitted tee under it in case anyone tells you to button that shirt up.
For pants, if you like the fitted-jeans look, just buy some navy blue pants and skinny them up a bit. Theres plenty of tutorials around the net about making pants skinnier. Just make sure the waistline fits you well. They also sell some skinny navy blue pants for those of you who don't fancy sewing.
Dressing up that button-up for some windy season, get a nice blue or white cardigan. Make sure its a fitted one with a v-neck so you look lest granny-like. A vest is a nice touch-up as well. Halter vests with buttons is a sweet europian look and way more fashionable.
To touch up a weird or plain sweater that they only allow, add some pins and patches. Make sure to check if it's safe. Nothing gore-ish or violence/sex/drug related. Sometimes...it's not cool and doesnt really match up. Band pins are ok, for some schools. Handmade patches are cool, or even some chevrons for that army look.
Distress some of you pants if you like that kind of look. I personally don't like distressed jeans, only if its a natural wear-and-tear. Theres plenty distressing methods sch as using
-cheese graters (any side)
-ped-egg (that worked perfectly for me)
-sand paper
-nail file (for those small areas)
Any of these methods should work, or use all of them for just one spot or many!
If you choose to wear a skirt but they don't allow a lot of leg, add some tights to go along. Stick with solid colors if you're afraid they'd try to put you in detention.
If none of these tips apply to your certain school, just rock out your hairdo. crazy clips to fit your style, big bows, any type of hairstyle that'd make you more personalized than others.
From personal experience, uniforms can be annoying and boring, but i had to fashion myself the hard way and go against the rules. Please do not try any of these if it could get you in trouble or sent to detention and what-not. These tips and tricks can only apply to some schools. Hope i helped in a better school year to get yourself noticed!

Organizing a Small Closet
Well, being a teen in the recession, we might have small closets. Or we couldve had small closets for the longest time ever since we were born. Whether it's a walk-in where only your 2 year odl brother could walk into, or a little space on the wall, or even a couple drawers, these tips should help.
Ok, i have a small dresser about as wide as 2 of me, and no, i'm not such a massive person. It has no shelves, since my genious cousin sat on it in a great game of hide-and-seek since he was talking on the phone. It has one hanger rack thinga majig lol idk what its called. and i have 2 plastic drawers that i have inserted for extra storage.
FIRST THINGS FIRST: Take out ALL your clothes. Not just a couple ALL of them. This way, you can find what you need, what you dont wear, and stuff that your grandma sent you 6 christmases ago.
Fold all your clothes and while doing that keep seperate piles. here's my organization piles
One for t-shirts (since i have a lot), one for jeans (i have a handful.), one for other bottoms, one for fancier tops/party tops, one for dresses/sweaters/anything you have to hang, one for pajamas or house clothes, one for underwear, and one for the stuff you don't really care for.
**Your list can vary depending on what kinda of clothes you wear.**
Now to start throwing things away..or giving it away. Take the clothes you don't really care for or that don't fit you (let's not be in denial now) and put them in a plastic bag. This can get it out of your way for just a little bit. If you have a little sister/brother or a little cousin or friend, give some of the nicer clothes to them, but make sure that they like it first, cuz it'd just end up back in your hands and into the trash. It won't really help the landfills get smaller.
Find out how you can fit your clothes into your dresser. If you have anything that should be hung, put them on a hanger and hang them somewhere. If theres a family coat-rack, put your sweaters there. Dresses shouldn't be folded since they're more delicate than others, put them on a hanger if you have some place to hang them. If not, you could look into installing or buying simple hooks that go on easily, and you can place them anywhere you'd like.
Since i had 2 plastic drawers, i stacked one on top of the other. I put my unmentionables in one, and my pajamas and house clothes in the other, so i don't have to dig just to find something to sleep in. As for the rest of them, i seperated button-ups from regular t-shirts, making it easier for me to be more formal and mix and match things. I sadly had 3 stacks of t-shirts since i'm a t-shirt kinda gal, so i took up the whole right side with them, tightly but neatly in that corner. The button up's next to my stack of bottoms and jeans. I hung all my dresses and fancy tops and took out un-needed hangers. I shifted them all the way to the side to make it more roomy and put some un-used hangers to the side where theres no dresses hung, to make things easier since its tough to pull something out and it ends up stuck to the other hanger.
well that's how i organize my small closet, it can always vary with how big or small you closet or drawers or whatever you have are. Request any tips and tricks but in the meantime, ill think of my own.
